Third L-class vessel delivered in China

Yesterday, we took delivery of the third L-class, Thun Liverpool, at Avic Dingheng in China. Just like her sister ships, Thun Lidkoping and Thun London, she will enter the Gothia Tanker Alliance network.

Världens mest miljövänliga produkttanker på dopbesök i Stockholm

Den 11 september får Stockholm ett unikt besök. Thun Tankers klimatsmarta produkttanker ”Thun Venern”, som är designad för att göra ett så litet avtryck på miljön som möjligt, ligger på onsdagen vid Skeppsbron. Fartyget kommer att döpas klockan 12:00.

Thun Tankers orders NAABSA port max sized product tanker – Enters into a long term agreement with Geos Group Ltd

Thun Tankers BV has placed an order for a 4,250-deadweight product tanker. The ordered tanker will be delivered October 2020 and enter into a long term agreement with UK based Geos Group Ltd. The vessel will be built with “NAABSA” design – “Not Always Afloat But Safely Aground” – being able to call tidal restricted niche ports.

Second L-class vessel delivered in China

Delivery Thun London first crew July 2 2019

Thun Tankers takes delivery of the second L-class, Thun London, today in China. Just like her sister ship, Thun Lidkoping, she will enter the Gothia Tanker Alliance network. This L-class vessel is the second in a series of five resource efficient, high quality tankers built by Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding Ltd in China.

The L-class tanker has been designed and developed in-house, using the Erik Thun group’s long experience of building sustainable, high quality vessels. Focus on environmental care, new regulations and customers’ needs has been key in the design and building process of this vessel type. The new tanker will enter into the Gothia Tanker Alliance network with crewing and technical management by MF Shipping Group.

First L-class and second E-class delivered

Thun Tankers takes delivery of first L-class and second E-class on the same day. Both vessels will enter the Gothia Tanker Alliance network.

On May 9th, Thun Tankers took delivery of the 18,650 deadweight product tanker “Thun Lidkoping”. This L-class vessel is the first in a series of five resource efficient, high quality tankers built by Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding Ltd in China. On the same day, the 8,000 deadweight “Thun Evolve” was delivered to Thun Tankers by Ferus Smit BV in the Netherlands. The dual fuelled vessel, that will use natural gas or biogas as fuel, is the second in a series of four ordered E-class tankers. The Shipyard Ferus Smit has previously built 33 efficient quality vessels for Erik Thun.

New management at Erik Thun Group

The Board of Directors of the Erik Thun Group today announced that they have appointed Johan Källsson as Managing Director for the Group, after Anders Källsson has chosen to resign. Naming ceremony in China

We are very pleased to announce that Thun Tankers, part of Erik Thun Group, has completed the naming ceremony for two new product/chemical tankers on Saturday 23rd of March on site at the Chinese shipyard AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding Ltd. The two vessels are named Thun Lidkoping and Thun London and will be a part of the intermediate segment of Gothia Tanker Alliance.
